YOM ODAMTTEN

Yom

Yom Odamtten
wasn't immediately hooked on yoga, but came back to the practice during a period of transitions. "Yoga has helped me find a sense of peace with myself and a large loving community of yogis, where ever I am. I am kinder to my body and more patient with others since starting my practice. My practice gives me the opportunity to slow down and really appreciate all the gifts that I have been given and can give to others."

Yom has lived all over the country and completed her yoga training at CorePower Yoga in Denver. More recently, Yom has taught and practiced at various studios in New York City while completing her Masters Degree in Teaching Social Studies at Columbia University. Yom considers one of her greatest strengths to be teaching, "Teaching will always be a part of my life. It makes me complete. Teaching yoga helps me balance my other classroom practice. Both teaching environments help bring me balance to my life and hopefully my students". Yom hopes that once her students walk into her studio they are able to let go and accept themselves and their bodies in that moment and have fun with their practice.

In her practice Yom likes to tackle challenging postures, such as crow, but actually finds Savasana to be the most difficult. “Quieting my mind and just being in a posture is always tricky!”
