Ana Forrest
Walking the Path of Your Spirit
The aim of the training is to make you more skillful,
passionate, and intelligent as a teacher so that you are
better equipped to deal with the challenges you face
throughout your life, and to teach from a place of truth and
authenticity.
Trainees will be encouraged and empowered to develop both as
individuals and as teachers. Ana and her assistant teachers
mirror the compassion, introspection and self-awareness
necessary to teach yoga. Through meditation, intense daily
yoga practice, group instruction, trainees can begin to
discover the voice of their own spirit, which leads to a truly
authentic life path.
FORREST YOGA PROGRAM DESIGN
The Forrest Yoga Continuing Education for Teacher program is
comprised of three components – morning Meditation and Daily
Forrest Yoga Intensives, and afternoon Training & Instruction.
Meditation
(6:00 am - 6:45 am)
Meditation practice is the process of asking the question:
"What am I?" The tools of meditation are chanting, sitting as
well as questions and answers. These tools are used to help
quiet the chatter of the mind in order to examine this
question with clarity and focus. Developing a meditation
practice can have a profound effect on your life. Instead of
being controlled by the chatter of the mind, learn to use
awareness in each moment to assess your relationship to that
moment.Prior to the daily intensive yoga practice Jonathan will use
storytelling, chanting, Kido (energy meditation) and sitting
meditation to help trainees free their minds from their
attachment to habitual patterns of thinking and the resulting
habitual patterns of action. The freedom from habitual
thinking will have an immediate effect on your yoga and in
your life. This meditation class is aimed at helping trainees
develop a daily meditation practice and delivers a gentle
approach that demystifies Zen meditation offering ample
opportunity for questions.
Daily Forrest Yoga Intensives
Open to all students
$250/ five intensives, December 7 - 11 (Sessions are available
as a 5 session package only. Exception: If you have taken the
FY Foundation Course, you may purchase individual sessions)
meditation: 6:00 - 6:45 am
yoga intensive: 7:00 - 9:00 am
As the foundation of this course the daily intensive yoga
practice with Ana and her teaching assistants will create a
heightened sense of physical, emotional and spiritual
awareness while challenging every muscle and cell in your
body. Through a carefully constructed and rigorous Forrest
Yoga series of asanas, Ana will open you to amazing depths and
feelings of awareness. You will leave feeling cleansed,
refreshed and alive. The intensives are a sanctuary where you
can feel safe enough to open up, work through issues that may
arise and go beyond your perceived limitations. You will learn
about yourself and feel what it is like to have freedom in
your own body and mind. The intensives are sure to bring
trainees to new levels within their yoga practice. Injuries
are addressed so that each trainee experiences these classes
as part of his or her own healing practice.
Training & Instruction
(12 noon - 4:00 pm)
Daily four-hour sessions of training and instruction comprise
the afternoon portion of the course. Using skill-building
exercises, trainees will work with the essential elements of
teaching, such as: class & posture sequencing, optimal
personal nutrition, spiritual exercises, study of personal and
professional ethics, the use of safe and effective hands-on
adjustments, and effective clear, concise and powerful
communication, eliminating mind-dulling habitual phrases, and
tone of voice as well as the continued development of a more
charismatic presence and honesty in your class.

powerful philosophy and approach toward yoga. Her intent in teaching yoga
is to do her part in healing the Hoop of the People; “to inspire people to
clear through the stuff that hardens them and sickens their bodies so they
can walk freely and lightly on the earth in a healing way, a beauty way.”
Trained in a multitude of healing modalities including Native American
medicine and ritual, Ana guides her students toward healing by teaching
them how to change their relationship to their past and how to embody
their spirits through yoga. One of Ana’s greatest attributes is her
ability to hold a sacred space for her students and teach them how to use
yoga to celebrate the beauty of life and the power of spirit.
